She used to laugh, but not anymore. When she was still in elementary school, she loved to laugh. Even the stupidest joke in the whole wide world could make her laugh, or at least make her chuckle. She used to laugh until tears welled up in her eyes and she thought that she would just burst if she kept it up. She would laugh hard enough to make her breathing turn shallow, and her laughs would turn into long brays and wheezes. The kids used to tease her about that though. They would call her “donkey girl” and would call out to her saying “HEE-HAW!” whenever she passed by. She didn’t like being teased like that, and so, little by little, her laughs got quieter and quieter, and she laughed less and less. Eventually, the kids forgot about how she used to laugh and the names they had called her. She never forgot though. It stayed with her in the depths of her mind, and, by the time the other children had stopped teasing her, she had long since stopped laughing altogether.
She used to cry, but not anymore. When she was a freshman in high school, she had a crush on a boy in school named Josh King. She would cry almost every night because she was almost sure that he liked Becca Robinson and not her. After all, Becca was only THE most popular girl in school. So, she would find herself sobbing into her pillow more often than not. She would cry herself to sleep and wake up the next morning to find that her pillow was not completely dry yet. She cried like that until one day when she found out from her best friend that he liked her too! Her friend assured her that Josh couldn’t care less about Becca What’s-her-name, and she knew that it must be true, coming from her best friend. That same week, Josh asked her out and they became a couple. Two months later, she decided to surprise Josh at home for their anniversary. When she got there, she found him in bed with her best friend, the same one who had told her that Josh never cared about Becca at all. When she went home, she cried all night until the tears dried up in her eyes and she couldn’t cry anymore nor has she since.
She used to love, but not anymore. Soon after her twenty-first birthday, her father passed away. The doctor said it was heart failure. He had had problems with his heart for as long as she could remember, but he had always seemed fine to her. She had always been daddy’s little girl, his princess. She could still remember times when he would play with her when she was little. Tea parties, Barbie dolls, house…he was never too busy for her. When she got older, he showered attention on her. She was daddy’s little girl after all. When it was her turn to pay her respects at the wake, she froze, standing over his body, feeling numb throughout her body. All the feeling in her chest seemed to dump into the bottom of her stomach and a feeling not entirely unlike nausea crept over her. She finally tore herself away from the coffin and away from the last person in her life that she had loved. Subconsciously, she made a resolution to herself that it was too dangerous, too risky to allow herself to love again.

She used to have reasons for living, but she forgot them one by one.
She used to be a woman, but that was so many years ago.
alright, this is a bit of a different writing style than i usually use...a little bit more vernacular...not completely satisfied with the ending though...
